The furniture industry is inherently wasteful. The current market is no longer built on well-made furniture and lighting. Companies design for obsolescence — fast trends, cheap materials, objects that were never meant to last. ZWEI is a renaissance of design, meant to break the cycle that is furniture waste.

The name is intentional. Zwei means two in German — a nod to second lives, second chances. In collaboration with Garrett Colvin, Marissa Dulay, and Henry Chemero, we built the Lumen Lamp: a fully functioning light fixture made from recycled aluminum and paper fibers. Materials that last, and don't disappear when they're done.

As Communication Designers, our role was creating a brand world and market strategy to compete against fast furniture retail brands.
